Basically I want to apply with both Biological sciences and Political sciences as my prospective majors. But the thing is all my EC's are either sports or women/human rights activism, and I don't know which to put as my first choice. If I chose to Biology first it would look weird that I have no scientific awards.

There are a few colleges which ask me 'why x?' and to these I replied because of the biology department and research and etc..
So if I put Political sciences first it would look weird to these colleges.

I still want to explore both of these in college before I chose my major which is why I still can't chose one as my first choice.

My question is: what would you advise me to do?

I would advise you to continue involving yourself with what makes you happy - because then when you write about it, or interview with someone about it, your passion will shine through and you become interesting. Honestly, most colleges do not hold students to the particular “major” applicants list on their Common App. They know that a vast majority of applicants change their mind. But, that being said, first I was going to say: I would only list Biology as a possible major if you have taken at least AP Biology, did well on the exam and possibly took a subject tests in it – since you have no other demonstrated interest in Biology to date. Then I re-read your post and you wrote that you wrote your “Why XX” essays on the schools’ biology and research departments. So yes, then you really should list Biology as your intended major or it will look strange. So the question becomes – WHY BIOLOGY? Forget the fact that you haven’t done your ECs in anything related – what is it about the subject that you love, that you love so much that this is the #1 reason why you are choosing THOSE schools over other schools. If you can answer that question, that is what will matter - not that you don’t have “matching ECs.”

@Momof2back2back Thank you very much! I took A-level biology (british equivalent to AP) and the subject test, plus I have a recommendation letter from a Bio teacher.
