<p>I'll be applying to MIT this fall. The problem is, I have no math/science ECs. I consider myself a math/science person, but my school/community simply doesn't offer any acivities. I suppose I could have taken initiative and done some sort of independent research, but it's tough to do in a very rural area. Am I screwed? Or will MIT take my app in context? Thanks!</p>

<p>Your not really “screwed”. Like Piper said, it’ll be viewed in context. But it might be helpful to note that MIT students general take initiatives even when opportunities seem thin.
Try learning new stuff online or something.</p>
