No meaningful activity essay?!

If you have a really special EC that you think you must talk about, I don't think it would hurt to elaborate on it, either in your essays or in a short supplemental page. But keep in mind that the admissions committee will be reading thousands and thousands of applications in the coming months; they won't want to read unnecessary paperwork.

I think the best way to go about it is to incorporate your ECs into your Why Penn essay or something. The admissions officers designed the application this way for a reason, and it probably wasn't so that everyone would write supplemental essays about their ECs :)

i think jpps1 is a little arrogant because he got in, which is understandable but definitely not right. its funny how someone's ego can get so big overnight.

It has nothing to do with ego--a silly question gets a silly answer...read my other 1000 posts on this forum; most of them are helpful, some of them are not. This forum was fun, and now it's being clogged up with people asking the same questions (page 217) three or four times, and people asking questions that are answered by reading the app and website.

ok first of all...chillax is an awesome word

second...i think its rediculous that this argument has gone on this long about someone's tone and what it meant...jpps is right in that it is kinda rediculous to ask that question...people really have been stressing about some stupid stuff and there have been a lot of similar question

now i know i've answered this question before...don't submit an essay or activities list if it doesnt really add to your app...you don't need to tell them about how much you loved playing on the lax team or something...and gmman made a good suggestion in that its much better to incorporate anything you want them to know in your essays...its much more subtle but it still gets the message across...you have sooo much flexibility in your essay questions (esp 217)..that you can basically tell them anything you want

Or conversely, it can get no answer from you if it bothers you to respond.
