of course
yeah, but we already see chatting going on. nearly the whole cafe is just chatting and if theyre going to do it anyway, why not impede them. i still say we should either shorten the 60 seconds to 30 or less or just get rid of it completely.
the 60 second rule isn’t that bad

Sleepy you can’t just take someone else’s vote. Just because you didn’t vote FOR this action, doesn’t mean it lessens the amount of votes we already have.
Anyway, looks like they’re not gonna change this, it’s pointless to argue about if after Roger posts.
I like the 60 second rule. There is already too many content-less “chatty” threads that dilute the quality content on these forums.
chatty threads are the bomb
I don’t like it. You don’t need to spend five minutes thinking and another five minutes typing to be thoughtful. My thoughts come in bursts, and that’s why I don’t like it. I use the new posts to find new posts to post on, so it might take me 15-25 seconds to post on one, but I’ve got to wait another half-minute before I can share my next though ughh
If you’re reading the forums, finding something to respond to, composing your thoughts, typing them, and clicking submit - repeatedly - all in less that 60 seconds, then I’d venture that (the majority of) your posts lack worthwhile content. Anything worth reading should take more than 15 seconds to compose.
Given your inexperience with the college admissions process and insanely high post-count, I’d be willing to bet money on how right I am.
Just because you want this place to be a chat room doesn’t mean the rest of us do. I apologize if you truly have posted 4,348 gems of wisdom and advice about the college admissions process, but I do remain skeptical.
Maybe I haven’t been through the admissions process, but I can bet my bottom dollar I know more about the process than most applicants themselves do. I have done extensive research. And I don’t post just to post ever. I’m not trying to turn it into a chat room, I, like others, can type very very fast.
