Are you serious????

Harry,
I have not heard anything about numbers of slots, but I can tell you a bit about interest in USC this year.

Each fall SC has “Meet SC” admission and general information receptions around the country in cities such as Seattle, Chicago, New York, Dallas, Atlanta and Miami. It is my understanding hundreds came to the Seattle reception. I attended the Atlanta event, which is across the country from the university. It was held at a major hotel in Buckhead.

A large room was set aside for a presentation and film. So many arrived hotel staff had to add three rows of chairs. Later admission and financial aid representatives gathered in small groups to answer questions in an adjacent reception area. One student drove 100 miles to attend. From the point of view of an alumna it was positive to meet parents who came with siblings of enrolled students.

USC’s admissions are super competitive so they obviously don’t have the time/energy to interview all the applicants… as a result, their undergrad interviews are first come first serve with an extremely limited number of spots; they fill up within a month or possibly even less.
My interview was last Friday and I remember I scheduled it way back in September in a huge panic because I wanted a good day+time… your loss for not being competitive enough No need to freak out though, the interview is supplementary to your application, and if you interview badly, you’re better off not interviewing at all.

I scheduled my interview a couple of hours ago. Try calling them!

haha i did i think their system was down at that time; nothing was appearing earlier on.

but i wouldn’t say im not “competitive enough”. i don’t think signing up in september automatically places one as more competitive. i hope your interview went well though it was just like a normal college interview, right?

thanks for all your input!

Harrypotter-don’t worry about “not being competitive enough.” USC only interviews 1% of applicants. It’s not the end of the world.

PS: since I can only assume that you’re a Harry Potter fan, make sure to keep an eye on the IQA page this weekend. USC will play at the World Cup in NYC and, at some point, the IQA will link to a live feed with video footage of the games. :)
