No more nervous wrecks here please

i'm kinda getting sick of the typical annoying posts:

omg i failed the SATs, got a 2320 (retake?) QQ

omg i failed the ACTs, got a 34 (retake?) QQ

my extra curriculars are: president of the math 'team', science 'team', academic decathalon 'team', chess club, placed nationals at the national math whatever

4.9 gpa out of 5 (damn that A- in AP English when i was a freshman!!! I was so dumb then!!!)

13 APs so far, all 5s (except for a 4 in Bio)

self studied for 5 AP tests (possible the nerdiest thing ive ever heard of)

on the badminton club

school president and vice president

SO STOP FREAKING OUT IF YOURE ONE OF THESE PEOPLE. youll just get in massive debt at hypsm anyway. some very very stupid smart kids here. gr

Although I don’t agree with you 100%, I still kinda do. I’m one of those mid-90 average, below 2000 SAT score kids, and am sick of seeing nervous wrecks who dont have every little perfect thing

EDIT: and I think self studying AP exams is very nerdy lol

I think they should create a “reassure me of my obnoxious academic elitism” section separate from the regular chances forum.

they’re either genuinely ignorant or want their egos stroked and massaged.

old complaint is old

well said lifekiwi. You have a point about people getting upset about a 2320 amiright, but applying to these schools is really stressful and it can be useful to get third-party opinions on your chances.

Yeah colleges like HYPS etc. are really strange. People with what you’ve shown and better still get rejected. It’s a case by case thing that you havven’t considered.

Hey, don’t be a hater. ;)

We don’t have the time to be nervous wrecks. Now that apps are in, you need to get 1002943029903428 scholarships to help finance your education. Seeing as these colleges basically flip a coin about 4 times to see if you get in, you’re no better off worrying.
