No more "View Admission Status" Link

THey might have entered decisions and took the site down for maintenance before decisions.

THey now just might be able to hit a simple button to reveal decisions, without completely taking the site down

Does anyone know how they really enter these things online

Anyone who applied ED, how did the screen show up before posting decisions.
Did they take it down initially

Dont worry, we will know very soon, within a few days

Why doesn't somebody call and ask why the website keeps changing SLASH when they will post decisions!

If I don't find out by the 24th, I'm making a phone call...

They can't do this! AH! It's so stressful. BU is the only school I have yet to hear back from that I have a chance at so once they finally get their act together I can decide.

Seriously, BU, stop with these mind games!

I just talked to my father, a computer programmer, and he said that they did not have to take down the site to input decisions.

They probably alsready have them inputted and can just press a button to initiate the decisions.

We will know soon. THe only question is in a few hours or days.

At least this makes the week a little more exciting.

hmm so much for 5 pm...haha

my birthday is the 24th so if they really come out on that day it would be an awesome present. But then again it could ruin my big 18th.

the admissions office said they'd post decisions towards the end of the week. they also said theyve been experiencing a lot of problems with the site, hence it going up and down and driving us crazy.

Technology-can't live with it, can't go insane checking dozens of application status websites every 5 minutes without it.

At least the end of the week news is comforting.

Oh. That's why it was changing, then. So I guess it looks like we're really going to have to wait until the 24th...

I um . . . I withdraw my bet.

I actually wouldn't be surprised if they were inputting the decisions. With the whole HBS119 incident, they might have not had the decisions on their web server, and it's quite possible that they're placing them on the web server now. This would also fit in well with the whole admissions link missing, because they wanted to limit traffic to their website.

Well, I will admit that I belive I have discovered a not-kosher method of determining decision status. . . My best "guess" it that the decisions are keyed into the database. They aren't linked yet, though. Having watched HBS119 unfold, I don't think I'll be sharing how to find out . . .

On a more random note, doesn't "HBS119" sound like next year's big blockbuster nuclear submarine movie?

I keep checking the website- this is crazy!!
I hope we find out by the 24th...or BU will receive many phone calls!

im a bit confused. my admissions status link still exists, and when i open it, i get the same old "you application is complete...etc". am i missing something?

Yeah, mine still says view admissions status.

This is also after it suddenly went down over the weekend.

Now i'm nervous.

Are they not going to post my decision online if I applied for the Trustee schol?

Aw, Nom, you can't tease us like that. Then again, I wouldn't do anything that could get me in serious trouble like that, so I guess it doesn't tease that much. Anyway...what's two days? heh..heheh...

What I did could not get me in any trouble, since I already knew my status from early decision. For you all . . . it's a different story.

Feel free to beg via PM. I will answer everyone individually. But I do not guarantee any sharing (and that's an understatement).

Nom, I'd be careful. They can always revoke their admissions. You're probably better off just having people wait until Thursday.

Marc: Thank you for your concern, but I do know that.

Those who messaged me only received a lecture on ethics and technology. My post was a honeypot.

Has anyone seen the new applicant link page? It's quite nice.

But still no decisions :(. Two days should be easy enough to wait out.
