Im wondering if I dont get a package from andover or deerfield ( i live pretty close, less than two hours to both) on march 10 ( TOMORROW!!) does that mean im rejected/waitlisted?

Not necessarily, sometimes schools send a smaller envelope on M!0 then a big one later on.

But for PA and DA, probably… or waitlist

(Andover comes by FedEx, not sure about DA)

To be more precise, it depends exactly where you live and what delivery service they pay for. For example saying FEDex implies next day delivery, but if you go for the cheaper versions, won’t necessarily guarantee it.

Unless we have that data, (exactly what service the school is paying for) and know where you are you can’t say for sure what delivery times will be (presuming good weather, of course).

I know when I next day delivered to DA the fastest avaliable for an insane price the day before the deadlines they said it would take 2 days because of DAs remote location. I live in VA.

Exactly. And there are several different competing companies: DHL, UPS, etc, all with slightly different terms.

[Shipping Service Info ? Intra-Canada Services ? FedEx Canada](http://www.fedex.com/ca_english/services/domestic/)

I guarantee from experience that they are not using next flight or first overnight, which are hideously expensive (if they are using FedEx). It is conceivable they might use Priority overnight, but also very possible it would be 2Day service, which is much cheaper.

“priority overnight” is very likely.

Okay, I know that Andover acceptances are sometimes delivered by FedEx - but is that always the case for domestic applicants?

And are they sent on the 10th or delivered on the 10th?

I believe they’re sent on the 10th

Don’t kill me if it’ll turn out wrong, but I think they mail them out today so you’ll receive them tomorrow morning - that’s what priority overnight does.

let us pray benley is right…ps is there a way on fedex or UPS to see whether or not ur getting a package?

And . . . .

Just received an email from Andover stating that “the letters will soon be on their way . . .”

They do provide a tracking # feature, but that is around $.45, and they would have to mail it to all the people who applied, each Tracking # is different so imagine having to write 2.5k+ Mails for it. The cost also would be pretty high.

Assuming that the Priority shipping costs $7.95 and normal shipping charges for domestic shipping costs $1.75 then the total cost would be around $27,500 for 2850 applications. Plus I believe atleast 500 students apply from overseas the US. So add in maybe $2000 more.

Grand Total: Around $29,500 (just shipping). Not too much for a school that gets $ 700,000,000+ in endowment but still pretty expensive to spend in 1 day.

And I believe that the schools mail the results on the 10th, acceptances by Priority/Overnight and the Waitlists and Rejections by Normal Snail 3-7 day mail.

i just got that email dodgersmom, was convinced it was a rejection notification…

I just looked up UPS shipping costs for 2 day Ground shipping to my area, and I found out I was off by around $ 1,500.

Just thought you all should know.

How long do the packages take to finally arrive in Asia? Just wondering :)

DA doesnt have online decisions, which sucks for me - cuz im currently on vacation in Asia and they are sending the decision letter to my address in Canada, which means I have to wait for 10 more days

ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Clearly, the process of applying to Andover is not for the faint of heart . . .

My goodness. When will Andover notify the int’l applicants?

monochromeAddict:

5:30 pm EST I believe…
