No Parents for Orientation?

My family can't make it for transfer orientation...and I was wondering if that's a big deal?

Exactly what goes on during the transfer orientation? What are parents there to do?

Will it be a big deal if mine aren't there?

No... it's not that big of a deal, especially as you aren't exactly new to the whole college business. Parents are really there just to provide emotional support.

It's actually crazy how overbearing and controlling some parents are -- micromanaging every last aspect of a student's life.

The only thing parents are really necessary for is helping you move in (but there are plenty of volunteers that will help you bring stuff upstairs)....other than that, you have so much to do that you wouldn't really see them anyway.

My parents were gone by 1:00 on move-in day....
