No Pass grade in non-major IGETC course

Hi everybody, I’ve been freaking out about this 6 units Physics class I took P/NP purely for IGETC (a choice I deeply regret). After studying to no avail, I highly doubt I can receive a passing grade in this class and was wondering how would UCs view a NP in the fall before transferring? I know it doesn’t factor into my GPA, but would this possibly hinder my admission? I would have only 10 units this quarter (I took 3 classes: Physics, Calc 1C, and Econ 2 - will definitely receive A’s in the latter two.)

This is my second time taking P/NP rather than a letter grade, and I underestimated the rigor of Physics.

I am an Economics/Business Admin. major with a 3.9 GPA; all of my prereqs will be done by the end of Spring. I plan on taking Bio in Spring to make up for this NP in Physics and will be certified for IGETC after I make it up. CC–>UC transfer.

Any help is appreciated, thank you!

They do look upon NP more neutrally. The best you can do is note in the TAU that it was 6 units and maybe simply say it was a horrible mistake. And you’re replacing it with bio. All in all, I think there is a very good likelihood they’ll ignore it.
