no Phi Beta Kappa - bad sign?

If a school doesn't have a chapter of Phi Betta Kappa, is that generally a bad sign of academic prowess? Sarah Lawrence is the school in question, if it matters.

Who cares about Phi Betta Kappa.

PBK is just recognition to the top 3% (i think it's 3) of a graduating class. It's not a marker of academic prowess, simply b/c there has to be a top x% in every group of graduates.

I don't know anything about the college in question though.

It doesn't seem to be an issue for Bryn Mawr or Caltech.

Bryn Mawr doesn't have PBK? or Sarah Lawrence? They must have chosen not to apply for some philosphical reason. Of course they'd qualify.

Well, if Caltech doesn't have it either, I'm not too worried. I just wondered because I heard that it was the mark of a school with good academics (or something along those lines).
