Hey, well, like the title says, i have never taken a physics or calculus class - ap, or regular. i know these are kind of "major classes," so will i be heavily penalized for not taking them? I'm aiming for top UC schools...I want to major in poltical science, if that means anything...and i have taken regular chem, ap bio, ap envrionmetal science, ap stats, etc. thanks so much!

you're definitely not screwed, emphasize why you like your major and how your classes DID help you. seriously do you need physics to figure out the GNP of developing countries? No, you need common sense and a strong academic background, unless they say you need it, you probably don't for your major.

it's better than taking them and failing them.

i took both. not that i would say it was a mistake, it was a learning experience...but yeah.

most colleges want you to take at least pre-calc. if you haven't taken pre-calc, i'd say you'd be screwed at the top UCs. otherwise, you're fine, provided your gpa & test scores are in order.

basically-- you won't NOT get in just because of the lack of calc/physics.

i never took calc (i never took pre-calc either) and i got into ucla (i did take physics though). i wouldn't say ur screwed at all, unless you took like, gym instead of those. im out of state by the way.
