No Reeders here?!

Why don't any one post here? No applicant for there? Is it that bad? I've heard that their science is very strong. Any comments on this? Any internationals there or applying?

I am applying to Reed, simply because of its excellent science program and humanities education (my parents are crazy about the first year Humanities 110 course, which is a mandatory full year of the classics). I am a bit put off by its reputation for drug use and quirkiness (i.e. no grades). Is there anyone who goes to Reed or is an alum who has comments on it?

Reed has grades, you just have to ask to see them, so it's not like Evergreen. It's my first choice, I really wanna be admitted....

I got in ED. See ya there!

my daughter attends Reed.I think it is a fantastic school. Yes it is quirky. Students get a lot of mileage complaining how much work they have. I imagine there is drug use and alcohol use, but it isn't any more of a problem than at any other school but perhaps BYU. Reed students are assumed to be independent responsible adults and are treated as such. Security officers are mentors not police.
They do have grades but you make an appt with your advisor to see them, they aren't automatically given.
the Reedie livejournal can answer more questions.
