I contacted my regional director when I got deferred and she told me to send her an essay explaining why UPenn is my first choice. She was very prompt in replying too, did so in under a day. I sent it to her early morning on friday, but I havent received a response yet. Im scared that she mightve overlooked the email or it mightve gona in her junk automatically by mistake (happens sometimes for some people to me). So what do I do? Email her again? but that would only work if the emails are actually going in her inbox right? Is it fine for me to call admissions office then ask to get connected to her or ask to give her a message or something?

Thanks for your help

i would call. but thats just me.

I got her number off the site, called and she wasn’t there. The person told me to email it again so I did, hopefully she’ll see it now… It’d be so annoying if the essay doesn’t reach, is there anyone else I could send it to to pass it on?

In the admissions office I mean

It’s spring break this week - maybe she’s on vacation?

Oh i didnt know that, its quite possible cuz she wasnt in her office when I called. Do you know when spring break gets over?

shanghai mom i am a 10000% certain that admission officers are not on holiday now when less than a month is remaining for D-day for RD and penn has received 26800 applications!!

they most likely dont have time to respond to e-mails now. this is a very busy time for them

Yea I called the general information number, thats what they told me. She probably doesn’t have time to respond because she’s busy, and that she got my mail for sure because they check their inbox thoroughly. But still, I mean it doesnt take long to say I got it, thanks as a reply. Probably takes just as long as downloading the attatchment

i know i have the same problem, but im not gonna worry about it because itll drive me insane. just hoping for the best
