Okay so I'm a junior this year and COMPLETELY sold on DePaul just from visiting a couple weeks ago. I am madly in love with Chicago and winter is my favorite season so I think Chicago is my place to be lol. I just think I will have a problem getting in. I have some pretty stellar SAT scores, I'm being tutored for the ACT soon, play Field Hockey, am the Vice President of my Key Club (community service org.) and MUN...etc etc. I'm pretty well qualified in the extracurricular arena. The problem comes with the GPA. :( Its relatively low unfortunately. I took about 7 AP courses and even more honors through my high school career and now, my gpa is getting the effects due to my overdose in advanced courses.

I'm really worried about admissions. Does anyone know what I could do to increase my chances for admission?

I plan on doubling in Political Science and African American studies. At this moment I'm willing to do anything to go to this school. When I visited I felt so welcome and at home there it was amazing.

If some people would like to include some stats that would really awesome!

i think depaul will like you courageouness you showed by taking 7 APs/Honors Courses. If you didn’t get very good grades in them, then you should probably have good ec’s to back it up. GPA is everything though so concetrate now on your ec’s, ACT/SAT, essay, and volunteering. That might be able to get you in!

well loyola is my number one choice in CHICAGO. depaul is second, but i really like the city atmosphere. i need to do a college visit! i’m worried about the tuition though!

Yes you really should go on a visit. It was so AWESOME. I went to like all of the chicago schools. Loyola’s campus is right on the waterfront its so gorgeous. But I still became hooked on Depaul.

But I understand where you are coming from with the tuition thing. Ive been looking into it and both schools are pretty expensive X(
