i'm an international applicant and i am asking for financial aid.

but, i have not taken any sat 2s. more precisely, i cancelled the scores after the test (the height of foolishness!).taking them now is not an option. all the colleges im applying to say they dont require it. but will this affect my chances?

If the colleges you’re applying to say that SAT2’s are not required, then it will absolutely NOT affect your chances for acceptance. No stressing necessary.

One of my sons applied to 7 liberal arts colleges (very good ones – Oberlin was one), was accepted to all 7 with large to huge scholarships from each – and he had no SAT2’s. If they’re not required, then they’re not required.

Everyone applying abroad from my high school has at least a couple of sat 2s. that is mainly the cause for my concern. i just hope my apps don’t look under qualified…

If your apps look under qualified, then I’m very confident that it won’t be because there are no SAT2’s. The colleges would say that they want them if they were important for admissions. Good luck, Butterfly!

Middlebury asks either for SAT or ACT or three SAT IIs
Oberlin asks only for SAT or ACT
Bates does not even ask for any test; they are optional.
Colby asks for either SAT or ACT or SAT IIs.
It will not affect you in any way. =)
However, being an international student asking for financial aid can affect in some of those colleges your decision. (Not Middlebury since they say in their web page they won’t do so.) =(
