I am an applicant with no particular hooks (not recruited etc.) and won’t have my SAT IIs in time for Pomona ED, though it is my #1 school. I understand that SAT IIs are optional, but I worry that not having these scores may still put me at a disadvantage. Does anyone who has any experience at Pomona/the college process/SAT II optional schools know if this worry is valid?
when do you plan to take the SAT 2’s?? They are offered october(deadline is tomorrow to reg. ), Nov, and december.

although SAT2’s are not required, I think you are correct in thinking without a hook(diversity, athlete) with a school that is so selective the more the better in showing your abilities.
I had my son submit his best 2 SAT subject tests.
When the Pomona Rep came to my school, I asked her this question, her response: “We will not notice if they are not there, but we will notice if they are bad.”
So I know this is too late for ed1, but to anyone else who sees this, I guess it means only submit them if they are good, but if you do not submit them, it does not affect you really.
