No SAT IIs required?

I saw a post somewhere about if you apply ED or EA, like to Georgetown, you don't need any SAT IIs, just SAT I or ACT. Is this true? Does this apply to all schools? Thanks.

Its recommended that u have them but not required to complete your application. Still you probably need them in reailty plus if your apply to other schools you need them. Most selective schools require 2. Some like Princeton require 3. None require 4. Some may use them after you get in for placement but not use them for admissions. Check each individual school. Rule of thumb take 3 or 4 anyways and report them.

Well it seems that GTown actually says this on their websites, but others don’t. So the ones that don’t say it means SAT IIs are still required even if it’s EA/ED?

I would just email or call the school and ask, just to make sure.

If you are looking at the high ranks for EA or ED, schools that normally require IIs other than Georgetown still require them for EA or ED. However, the following applies to all applicants whether early or regular: (a) Stanford and Johns Hopkins do not require IIs but recommend them (except for engineering Hopkins wants a Math IIC and a science); (b) UChicago neither requires IIs nor recommends them; (c) Northwestern does not require IIs (except for some limited programs) but recommends them; (d) Yale, Brown, Penn, Amherst, Duke, Tufts accept ACT in lieu of both SAT and SAT IIs.
