No SAT in China???

Last week I tried signing up for the SAT Reasoning exam via www.collegeboard.com but was unable to find any testing locations near my area, Beijing, China. In fact the search engine for test locations did not provide the name "China" under the country list for international registration process. I have sent collegeboard an email regarding this issue, but have received an automated message irrelevant to the original question.

I remember someone telling me about a code of honor misconduct that occured in China sometime ago, which resulted in ban of all testing sites in the country. I unfortunately couldn't find any related articles on "China, SAT" on the web. And I hope this does not mean I would have to travel to another country to take the test.

Does anyone know of this issue? I find it very hard to believe that collegeboard does not allow a single testing site in China to administer the exam. Please, the October registration deadline is coming up soon and I definitely would hate to miss the deadline. Thank you for reading... Thanks again.

Call the collegeboard. Call them now.

Chinese take the SAT in Hongkong

There were some severe cheating problems in China a whiile ago, and the result is that there is no SAT testing in China proper right now. Hong Kong is a possible location; some Chinese students submit GRE scores instead of SAT I scores.

Guangzhou.

fly to HK, some even fly to japan/korea/singapore...

Wow. What an inconvenience. You guys actually think he's going to fly that far to take one test. Typical of collegeboard and SAT to pull one off like that.

Read the thread. Chinese students study in the United States every year, but they often submit GRE scores in place of SAT scores.
