So I am applying for Financial Engineering at Princeton University. However, just recently I found out that Princeton said that students that intend to do engineering SHOULD take a subject test in physics or chemistry. Unfortunately, by the time I found this out it was too late for me to register for the November SAT subject tests . December is too late because I am applying Early decision. I have taken two SAT subject tests, math 2 (as princeton requires) and molecular biology. Do you think it will make a big difference when it comes to reviewing my application?

I wouldn’t be surprised if the computer bounces your application out and rejects you outright because you didn’t meet the requirements for the program you applied to. It’s an easy rejection not even requiring human intervention. Most successful applicants to Princeton are quite capable and are usually able to follow the simple instructions.

Also, Princeton doesn’t have early decision, they have single-choice early action. Therefore you should do away with your plans to apply early, take the required test in December, and get your application in by Jan 1. There is no advantage to early action in terms of getting in. It’s really hard no matter what.

This is a no-brainer.
