safe to assume this, right?
if i have received absolutely no information about saturday/sunday at the square or university day and if i can't log into NYUnet ID either, i should expect a rejection, no?
i've been reading threads from last year, and everyone who hadn't received invites or were unable to log in were rejected.

I'd say its probably a good chance it's true. I'm in the same boat for Stern. But hey, not like we have to wait much longer to find out the real 100% truth.

what is the NYUNet ID? is it the code you got with your application confirmation? where do you login?

edit: I just read on the other thread and created my account...what does that mean? am i admitted?

Note: I am an international who did not receive any sort of notification, although intels are notified much earlier...so the fact that you can make a netid is not necessarily an indication of your decison.

uh international applicants arent notified of stuff earlier before people in the us, what do you mean? you guys hear the same time as the rest of us

scrapnel, well on this thread... http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=160881 ... I heard a slightly different thing. additionally, intels usually hear earlier at LACs in particular.

Why have I/have I not received an invitation to an on-campus program?

During the month of April the Office of Undergraduate Admissions hosts a variety of events on and off the NYU campus. As invitations to these events arrive in mailboxes across the country we ask anxious students to keep a few things in mind.

First, our admissions process continues through the end of March. While we are in the process of finalizing decisions, we must also begin mailing program invitations so that families can make necessary travel arrangements. However, at this time we are still actively reviewing applicants and making admissions decisions. As such, not receiving an invitation is in no way an indication of an admissions decision. All applicants will receive official notification on or around April 1st.

Further, our office received a record number of applications this year with over 35,000 students applying for freshmen admission. These students applied to eight undergraduate colleges at NYU. Just as these colleges offer different programs of study, each of our events is unique and focuses on students with specific interests. Additionally, we always must be mindful of our space limitations on campus. While some of our applicants have been invited to some of our programs, it is not possible for us to invite all of our applicants to all of our programs.

We certainly understand that this is an anxious time for students as they await our official decision. However, we discourage students from trying to read too much into what an invitation may or may not indicate. Our Committee is always happy to speak with students or families who have questions about their application or a program invitation.

I pray that they're telling the truth...

maxy - actually a lot of students hear a few days before their scheduled date (april 1) from what ive heard, not just internationals. buuuut hopefully that will be very soon cuz its coming up!

wait sooooo are they telling us by mail?? only?

Yes, we only hear by mail, and as many learned from the other topics posted....it's not wise/unwanted to try getting your netID's and such and no one knows what any of it means really. We'll all know very shortly, I wish all of you the best!
