No science class in Junior year? Need advice.

Hello everyone! I'm going to be a junior this year and I need some advice. I just got my schedule today, and unfortunately, things didn't turn out as planned -- Honors Physics was replaced by Honors Computer Programming. So basically, I don't have any science class this year.

I'm willing to drop Honors Computer Programming or AP Psychology for Physics, whichever one will fix my schedule. If it's not possible for me to take Honors Physics this year, I'll most likely be doubling up on science in senior year -- Honors Physics and AP Chem.

I'm working with my counselors to switch it back, but there hasn't been any confirmation yet. I was wondering if it was a big deal to not take a science class in junior year. I've already taken all of the other available weighted science classes (and I can't take a non-weighted class because it'll drop my rank). I'm a little worried because I'm thinking about going into pre-med in college. That, and I'll be applying to top-tier/very selective schools. Will not taking a science class be a handicap to me in the admissions process? If not, should I just stick to the schedule I have now?

Thanks!

Depends what you’re majoring in.

Computer science = science.

Am I wrong? And if you really don’t want to take it, then drop it and take physics instead. Do whatever you want, and don’t worry so much about what colleges want (and the fact you’re taking two sciences in senior year and are still worried is surprising).

Check the recommendations on high school courses for whatever colleges you’re interested in as well.

I’m not sure yet, but I’m positive that it won’t involve physics. It’s not really the class itself I’m worried about. It’s the fact that I’ll be skipping science for a year.

Computer science = Math. I would definitely drop it if I had that option. But I’m not even sure what’s going to happen.
