No Science Class Senior Year

I decided not to take a science class senior year because the 2 AP science classes offered requires us to ALSO be in their seminar the entire period. This will not be possibe because the JROTC has complete control over for scholarships and etc. I already have 4 units of science (I did chemistry and physics my junior year)

I know the academies stress that we have 4 units of science. I have that, but I did not do just one a year. If I dont have a science unit for my senior year, will I be overlooked?

As long as you have the required classes and good recommendations you should be fine. That being said, you should address that question to your admissions officer.

I dont have 4 credits, but only because we only have 3 offered at my school, will this be a problem?

From http://admissions.usma.edu/startyoung.cfm :
West Point encourages you to take a strong college preparatory academic program if you hope to apply and be a competitive West Point candidate. Your high school academic subjects should include:

Four years of English, with a strong emphasis on composition, grammar, literature, and speech.
Four years of math: algebra, plane geometry, intermediate algebra, and trigonometry.
Two years of a foreign language.
Two years of a laboratory science such as chemistry, biology or physics.
One year of U.S. history.
Courses in geography, government, and economics will be helpful as well. If your school includes a course in precalculus and calculus in its curriculum, along with a basic computing course, we suggest you consider taking those courses because they will be helpful during your first year at West Point.

BAnglin08 - you already got an LOA - not a problem for you, obviously!!

On collegeboard.com

They state that all service academies require 4 years of science. I'm assuming that they mean one class a year, but since I doubled my junior year... I hope that my 4 units will be treated as 4 years.

Anyone else have any comments please do...

OK, I looked at a hardcopy of the WP prospectus today. Unlike the website above, it reads "4 years of science to include 2 years of a laboratory science" - I'm not sure which one is accurate.
I imagine that if you have taken 4 classes, that would meet the requirement even if 2 were taken in the same year. As we have seen candidates have been given early LOAs with only 3 years of science (my son fell into this category). One could speculate that it may depend on what level the classes are - 3 AP laboratory science classes (Biology, Physics, Chemistry) with great scores may outweigh 4 years of lower level classes.
For accurate answers to you need to call your admissions officer.

I got a science class now. Human Anatomy and Physiology. I heard its hard as heck, but I switched in a week back.

Mister Sinister: Did you ever contact WP admissions? Candidates on this board seem reluctant to do so, which is a pity. They are really helpful and give great advice. Good luck this year. I noticed in a previous post that you attended SLS. If you were accepted to SLS you are on the right track.

Yea, actually, I don't think I would've gotten in without the help of one of my dad's friends (wp professor) he wrote a letter of rec for me to attend that. Who knows what could've happened. Right now.. my objective is to get in usma with whatever it takes.. Any method.. and number of years.

And with that determination, I'm sure you will...
