No science in senior year, does it affect admissions?

Currently i'm taking 6 AP's right now. I want to drop AP Physics, because its a huge workload. I've taken 4 science classes through high school, Biology, Chem, Chem AP, and Bio AP, but do coilleges want to see 4 YEARS of science? Im just wondering if having no science senior year wil drastically affect admissions chances into UCLA? Did any of you guys get in with no science in senior year?

BTW, some basic stats of me.

GPA: 4.0 UW/4.7 W
Rank: 14/730
SAT: 2310
SATII: 760 Math2C, 780 US History
NationaL Merit Semifinalist (likely finalist)

A few clubs here and there, no real leadership. About 250 hrs of community service in a few places, no sports, play in orchestra.

I doubt that it will matter

i only took bio, chem, and physics. and i only took 3 yrs math. so. don't worry.

if u gonna be a science major then why not drop another Ap and take phys instead? think it might help u a bit in admissions

smokeylarue,

UCLA: match

you must go to a competitive school to be ranked #14 with a 4.0 uw. stats are way above the accepted averages, though minor concern for pedistrian extracurriculars. write a good essay as it may be able to balance that out.

i took 3 science classes total, with none during my senior year. got accepted into ucla with stats lower than yours, although i did have strong EC's.

what major are you applying for?

smokeylarue:

UCLA: Match

I'm not totally decided on a major yet. I have interests in business, history, and even biological research. Definitely not an engineer material, don't really care much about advanced mathematics and physics. I've heard the freshman science classes are extremely cutthroat. Is this true? As for weak EC's, i just posted a very limited summary, I'm sure the final product will be more flowery and complete looking. I just hope no physics won't hurt my chances of admission. And my school is definitely ultra competitive, it happens when you have 3000 students on campus.

probably won't hurt your chances even though you're not taking physics. would've been more of a factor if you were applying for engineering though. you should be okay.
