No space left for transfer students?

I'm transferring to UCR this fall. I can't enroll into any classes until this Friday. The schedule of classes is showing that almost all the upper division classes for my major is already filled. Should I be worried? Is the school reserving any space for transfer students?

i am not aware of any spot saving for transfer students… call in just to make sure.

i would be worried… unless people don’t pay for school on time, spots will not be opening up. x_x

i transferred in last year. and i think its all up to your counselor for your major.

b/c my counselors saved enough seats for each transfer student in our major for specific classes we needed to start out with. so, yes. im pretty sure transfer students have seats saved for them in specific classes.

grr ant,

Did you have to go to the orientation and meet with the counselor to secure a seat in those classes? I’m registered for the Bear Tracks orientation on Friday, but I’m not going unless it’s necessary because I don’t have anybody to drive me there in the morning.

yeah i recommend going. I highly doubt they would give you a seat unless you show up, because we all registered for classes together at orientation and i think my counselors reopened the seats in the classes when we started to register. or if anything get the number to the counselor for your major and ask him/her if they reserved a seat and if you can get the classes without showing up.

As far as orientation goes, you sign up for your classes before lunch. and by lunch they let you leave, unless you wanna stay to get your student id and stuff. which you can just do another day. atleast this is all how it worked out last year.

So i would say itd be in your best interest to just go to orientation. and leave as soon as you can which was around 1230 for me last year.
