No Subject Tests? (I know its a little late)

I took the SAT II subject tests, without preparing at all, under the assumption that I did not really need to send them to Columbia if I did badly. I got a 760 on English, 730 on Biology, and did badly on Math II (680, only because I didn't prepare at all and thought it would be simple). I wasn't worried because I have a 35 ACT and a 2300 SAT, and the Columbia website says you only need the ACT.

However, I'm starting to understand that they might want these SAT II's, and it's unlikely to be accepted without them. This could be misinformed, though. My question is, should I sent the SAT II's, the two best ones (730 and 760), or would they hurt me? Or does this not matter at all.

Firstly if you submit your SAT score then you will need to submit SAT II subject tests. That being said, you can supplement both requirements with your outstanding ACT score which is fine (i only submitted my ACT score). Nevertheless, it wouldnt hurt if you also sent your SAT scores just to show them you did both. if you dont mind me asking, what do you plan on majoring in and is Columbia your first choice? Hope this helps

So you think sending subject tests wouldn’t hurt me, even though they’re lower than they should be? I don’t want them to negatively affect my chances.

And yes, I think Columbia is my first choice. I said I wanted to major in applied math, which I still like, but I’m also starting to look towards international studies sort of thing.

You do not need to send the subject tests and they’re not as good as the others, so don’t report them.

DS was accepted this early this year and did not take subject tests. He self-reported SATs and his (36) ACT and the ACT was also reported by testing agency.

Okay thank you @momfromme . That is great reassurance. It doesn’t matter that I actually sent in my SAT scores right? They’ll still pay attention to the ACT and understand that I want it to count as my main test?

Sorry for being so ridiculous btw. I thought I was all good and then I started reading more in depth and got worried.

Hi, just for clarification, i meant for you to send your ACT score and your SAT score, without subject tests. i believe it will demonstrate your capability in both tests whilst still bypassing the need for subject tests (as yo have ACT tests). Good Luck
