No "Thank You" notes/e-mails?

<p>That’s over thinking it, imo. Most people appreciate having their efforts acknowledged (taking their time to give attention to you). Odd are higher that the recipient will be pleased to receive a thank you note rather than looking for ulterior motives. As long as you keep it simple and don’t overdo it, I’d say it’s the right thing to do and won’t backfire on you.</p>

<p>So some would adopt a strategy of choosing not to send a thank you note because they suspect the recipient might assume it a bribe rather than merely a thank you?
Personally, if I sent a thank you note, I wouldn’t “worry that the recipient might think you are trying to gain some sort of advantage”.</p>

<p>I agree. But you trying having this conversation with a very stubborn 17 year old. In the amount of time we spent arguing/discussing it, he could have sent out 20 thank you emails. Really… I just gave up. :(</p>
