I have two days where my class schedule isn't completely hectic, but tuesdays through thursdays are awful. My college has two campuses, and I have all classes on the OTHER campus except for one. They have shuttles that come about once an hour, but sometimes the times are odd so you have to catch an early shuttle and wait like an hour and a half for your class, otherwise you'd be late.

Tuesdays and thursdays I don't have time for lunch, because my class ends halfway through it and the shuttle comes a few minutes later. Not enough time to run to the dining hall. Wednesdays, I don't have time for dinner. I have work study, and I get out at around 5:40, I have a class at 6:00, so I have to run to the dining hall, maybe get a few bites down, then run to make it to class on time.

And even when I do have time to eat, I feel like I'm not eating enough. I don't know if it could be stress or something, but regardless, I'm losing weight. If I have time to eat, I just get full too fast or something, I don't know. I'm just not eating enough, even if I do ever have time (which is seriously rare tuesdays, wednesdays, and thursdays), and it's getting me worried.

Could this all just be from stress? I don't feel real stressed; sure, it's my freshman year, but I LIKE college so far. So I'm not sure what's going on. Has anyone gone through something like this before?

I don't think it's stress. I am doing the exact same thing and Im not stressed at all. Well right now Im a first year architecture major and they have thrown us into project after project and I alway find myself going straight to studio after every single class until the evening instead of going to eat lunch. And on top of that I have a bulk of my classes on tues, wed and thursdays.

You could try to eat lunch earlier than the normal lunch time or you can make your lunch and eat it during class (if you sit in the back, haha) or before class or something. Always make sure you eat in afternoon/evening especially if you don't eat lunch because you dont want to go the whole day without eating. Usually I try to go out with a friend if I can find one that isnt busy or I make myself go somewhere to eat that way Im not eating nothing everyday. And that means that usually I eat in the evening most days.

Eat something in the morning. Fruit or cereal or something. Get up a little earlier to do it if you need to that way you're not eating just a 'sort of' quick dinner most days. For the evenings its nice to have something in your room that you can just stick in the microwave, quick and easy, (ravioli, chicken noodle soup (on the go!!!) mac and cheese, etc).

I carry food around with me. Water, goldfish, crackers, etc. Not an awesome meal but at least Im eating something during the day.

So yeah, hope that helps. But Im going through exactly the same thing.

If you can, get some yogurt or soup in a cup. Both are quite filling and can help curb your hunger until you eat. Though nerd855 is also dead on. I'm struggling with eating at normal times myself.. But, the yogurt/soup technique always works for me.

I had sort of a similar problem last semester. I just ate in class, luckily my professors didn't care, but even if you don't have time to stop and get lunch, maybe you could pack a power bar or some other sort of filling snack?

Yeah I have that problem this year on Thursdays. I have straight 9-10 schedule with 30 minute break through the whole day.

I just realized though, I can skip about 30 minutes during work so maybe I'll get like 45 minute dinner time. I'll just have eat a very filling breakfast eh.
I can't eat during work or Class because both are computer labs. How lame

You just have to adjust to your schedule. I've had a hard time remembering to eat this year too. I've had 3 or 4 days without eating in the past 3 weeks

My son has days where he has no time to eat for 8 hours straight with one class after another and only enough time to get to the next class. I have suggested he buy granola bars or another type of health bar and take it with him along with bottled water or juice boxes.

during summer i had back to back 3 hour classes. it sucked cause i was so hungry after my first class i would always go to the food court and eat but i always ended up being 10-15 minutes late for the next class.

Yeah, I do bring snack along, but it's not even solely the fact I have no time to get to the dining hall some days--it's that I physically CAN'T eat much. Snacking often only makes me feel sick, and when I'm eating an actual meal, after a few minutes I can't even look at the food anymore, and the thought of eating more isn't at all appealing.

I got to weigh myself when I went home on friday, and as of Friday I've lost almost 6 lbs in about a week and a half. When I got home, it didn't get any better. My mom was concerned about how little Iw as eating, but I couldn't eat more.

Well you are going to have to eat snacks or otherwise figure out how to eat a real meal otherwise you're going to really get sick.

What time does the dining hall close? You could always eat in the evening....Or are there places to eat within walking distance? You can get a meal there during the evening. Do you eat full meals on the weekends or the days where you are not super busy?

This is odd and perhaps you might like to speak with a health professional on campus about it.

Sometimes when I'm too stressed, I feel as if I "can't" eat OR as if I "need" to eat, whether or not I am physically hungry. Everyone knows of "comfort eating" when you scarf down ice cream because you had a bad day. Sometimes it's the opposite-- you lose your appetite because you have a bad day. Maybe because this is your freshman year, and you are adjusting to a different schedule, you are feeling too stressed to want to eat or find food appealing.

I was home this weekend and I could've eaten as much as I wanted, because I had nothing to do. I barely ate anything. So it's not just an at-college thing.

Perhaps because it's a "You-thing"-- you are the same person you are in a college environment as you are at home. People who feel stressed at work or stressed at school can come home and still feel stressed or depressed.

Really all I can say is that even if you don't feel like it, please eat something healthful and find someone you can trust to talk to about it. I would not continue not eating simply because I didn't "feel" like it. Obviously there is an underlying issue, perhaps mental, perhaps physical, and you should talk to a qualified professional about it.

I have the same problem - I have no time to eat and because I've stopped eating, when I do eat I get really sick.. so basically I've stopped eating all together. I lost 10 pounds in two weeks since I've been back at school -- I'm not a freshman and this didn't happen any other year that I have been in college. I force cereal bars down but my clothes don't fit me anymore .. hmm.. not complaining, I could stand to lose a few pounds, but I've really never felt this way before -- don't worry, you're not alone..

I'm trying to explain that this isn't a choice. I'm not CHOOSING to eat because I don't "feel" like it. I physically can't. I start getting sick to my stomach if I try to eat more than I am, and I can FEEL myself starving, but I can't eat more. It's not a choice. It's not an "I don't want to eat more." It's a fact. I can't physically force any more food down my throat.
