<p>So, I didn't decide on applying to UVA until winter break. Therefore, I had to pull of 2 BS essays in like one week. Anyhow, now I'm stuck in a bad position because I gave my counselor/registrar about 7 days (instead of the required 21 days) to process my transcript and send it out. If it happens that they cannot postmark it by the deadline of JANUARY 10th!!! then should I be worried and will this affect my admission decision?! Could this possibly disqualify me???? Does ANYONE know...Is anyone in my same situation???</p>
<p>I don't see why it should take your counselor more than 7 days. My counselor did it in about 30 minutes, and sent the materials the same morning I told her about UVA. </p>
<p>It shouldn't take your counselor more than 30 minutes (assuming she has written a rec for you before) to fill out the information, gather the teacher recs and transcript, and mail it for you .... if your school requires 21 days to process something so simple, that is truly ridiculous.</p>
<p>I think that it could have a negative impact on your application. Go to your counselor and beg. Offer to have your counselor put all the required information into an envelope, have them seal it and sign their name over the seal. Then you take that and fedex it overnight.
Alternatively, perhaps your counselor could FAX all the info., but I'd go with the Fedex first.
Really, be polite, but determined. All schools have deadlines and it's now fairly late in the year, so I doubt you'll find a lot of sympathy from any adcom if you don't get things there on time for review. This is just my opinion. Good luck.</p>
