No UCR Decision yet?

we might have a chance at irvine man hopefully la is long gone … i wish we knew early if we get in tho may 9 is way too far…

So if you guys read my earlier post on the thread, I stated that I called the UCR office of admission and they told me that decisions were posted only on Friday’s. THIS IS NOT TRUE. Last night my UCR portal said I had no notifications and today around 12 noon I checked my UCR portal again only to find out that I was waitlisted.

well like most of the time they dont know so they estimate but maybe it sent out a lil earlier and well get emails tomorrow?

You guys will get in!
I got in almost a month ago. I live in Riverside, but I’m not sure if that has any affect on decisions.
I have a 3.75 W GPA, 1450 SAT and 21 ACT. I applied to Biochemistry.
Don’t worry :)

The good thing is, most people that I know who applied to riverside only did so as a safety, and have gotten in elsewhere, so there might be hope for us.
It’s just the waiting that kills.

Why would someone come on here and say “don’t worry, you’ll get in”?? How do you know that?? UCR accepts way less than 50% of those that apply. And different majors, like those in BCOE, are even more competitive. Sorry, rant over…

Just commiserating with you all. I was in your place last year. The wait was horrible. Then on the last day, I got waitlisted. Uggg!!! Had to wait until May, had to pay a non-refundable registration fee to my second choice. But I finally got in!! So waitlisting can work. Good luck to everyone!!

Why are you such a pessimist and have wrong information? UCR accepts well over 50%, almost 70% to be approximate.

So… I still haven’t got my decision yet.
based on what ucr said on the fb, i have to wait even longer since i am an out of state application.
waiting is killing me

I think that will be the case for out of state students. I’m still waiting too

For the people that were accepted into UCR with a 3.5, what did you apply to major as?
Because I have a 3.8 and was waitlisted as a biochemistry major.

I applied to Riverside as a Biochemistry major with a 3.3, last year, and got in. As a result, I find it hard to see how they could waitlist someone with a 3.8. The only reason could be because of SAT scores or the personal essays. If you guys want to know, I scored 1680 and only listed like 2 things for my extracurricular’s/volunteer work, along with my 3.3, and somehow got in.

i got a 1510 on the SAT, with Yearbook Editor, Track & Field, Involved with Student Government, & involved with a few clubs.
I’m thinking it’s because I applied late. but it could be anything.
But I’m staying hopeful!

@integral7 how is the biochem program there? Is it hard? how is the class work? is there a chance i can transfer to that major if i apply for a chemistry of bio major?

Accepted: Biochemistry

3.7 UC GPA
IB Diploma
28 ACT
1720 SAT
7% in my class

Anybody waitlisted to ucr hear back yet? or have you heard of other people getting off the waitlist and admitted? I know lots of uci waitlist students are being admitted as we speak, and SIR dead line was four days ago now.

I’m still waiting on mine, I’ve already turned in my SIR to csu fullerton. But if I get into UCR im def going there!

Wait list Statistics
Offered place on wait list 2,538
Number accepting place 1,580
Accepted from list 1,014

copied from collegeboard and it’s based on fall 2011.
according to ms sun, UCR is apparently on target for california resident this year…

:/

@instru ive been hearing that by the 7th we will know im in same situation as u SIR to pomona waiting for biochem at ucr … i feel like its a 50/50 unlike irvines :(

I can’t really speak for statistics, but from all my friends who got accepted into UCR as their safety, they all got in elsewhere and none of them are going to UCR. So I really hope thats the case, that way we can all get in!

But according to admissions when I called, they said everyone should know on the 7th, on the FB page, they said by the 9th. So i’m not sure which one is correct. I guess we’ll see in a couple days.

@fishmay Even though Ms. Sun is very helpful and it is very kind that she reaches out to find us information, I don’t think that all her information is accurate though. She did say she “overheard” and false information gets tossed around all the time. Its definitely been really hard for all of us waitlisted kids but don’t lose hope yet, we have until Wednesday to find out and until then, we should still dangle on that last hope. Praying that we all make it because we did not chose UCR to be a safety school, we chose it with our heart and I feel like we deserve it. Wishing everyone the best! Ah the 9th needs to come sooner.

has anyone on waitlist recieved there financial aid info yet?
