I havn't visited the college, but I applied. Will this hurt me? Should I visit soon, or only if I get accepted?

It could. Are you interviewing? Have they come to your school and if so did you attend that meeting? Since there is no WUSTL supplement, you have no way of articulating why you like WUSTL except through your actions. I think it’s important to them to know that you are interested. It doesn’t have to be a plane trip. But it needs to be something- consider it your supplement. If you haven’t already, call and see if you can set up an alumni interview. And then at that interview be prepared to say why WUSTL is the perfect school for you- so make sure you research really well and know why it’s the perfect school so that they agree that you are the perfect student!

I didn’t visit Wash U before applying nor did I do an alumni interview. It helps but it won’t necessarily guarantee a rejection if you don’t visit.

I didn’t visit the school beforehand or applied for an interview. Still got in.
Interview/visiting really only goes towards demonstrated interest. You can easily fulfill that through applying for merit scholarships instead.
