I've just looked at Harvard supplements and apparently there is no Why Harvard essay this year, which I find very unusual !

Just wondering, do all colleges ask for Why essay in their supplements? I also checked Johns Hopkins and they don't ask for it this year as well =/

May be they wanna make sure they you aren’t applying to college without the basic knowledge about the majors offered or other facts about the college.

Believe me, even some ultra-competitive type CCers have made mistake by saying that they want to major in business or architecture at Harvard. Now, that is a blunder…

Harvard doesn’t care why you want to go to their school. There hasn’t been a “Why Harvard” question on the supplement for years; it’s actually one of the easiest supplements to fill out, which is one reason so many students apply.

C’mon the smart applicant works in “Why Harvard” without being asked – answering What does Harvard offer you and what do you offer Harvard within the requested essays or supplemental info.
