No Yale Interview = Rejection?

Yeah the title says it all. I am almost sure there is an alumni around my area cuz my friend got an interview a month ago from Yale. So the question is have I already be "pre-notified" of my rejection?

Thanks for input.

It doesn't mean rejection. Read my posts in the stickied thread RD Applicants: Interview Advice for full details. I have LOTS of posts, so just start at the first page and skim for my name and T26's for numerous discussions of this issue.

Absolutely not. The interview process is somewhat random...I read somewhere that they don't have time to interview EVERY single applicant so they just pick some of them. Whether or not you get selected has nothing to do with your chances of acceptance.

Nope. I'm living proof against that. I had no interview.

and I live in LA... its not like there shouldn't be any Yale alumni in this area.

I got in without an interview.

not necessary...dont worry, maybe there were no interviewers in ur area.

I've kind of resigned myself to this fact by now.

There has to be an alum in my area. It is what it is, I suppose.

The interview reports were due by the 15th from what I read on this thread.

No. Nein. Nyet.

Don't sweat it - many people get admitted without interviews.

Yeah, I know for a fact that there's an alum doing interviews in my area, but I didn't get picked... got in EA anyway. Don't worry about it.

No way...I was thinking the same thing as you but then the interviewer contacted me the night before he had to turn everything in, so it was very last minute and I quite possibly wouldn't have gotten it had I not heard his message on my answering machine!

I too got in SCEA without an interview. And I live on Long Island; there were a bazillion alum everywhere.

to OP, i'm in the same situation as you. I was never offered one, and I'm an RD applicant. I know that everyone says it doesn't matter, and yale even says that it doesn't affect your chance of admissions, but it still sucks, i know.
