<p>you could just not wet your hair if you want to shower again. i don't wash my hair everytime i take a shower just b/c it's the type that will get to dry and brittle.</p>

<p>in a large part of the country, there is a terrible drought...animals dying, farm land arid, and its like a new dust bowl</p>
<p>and I never said don't care about hygiene, but there is overkill....two or ore times a day...wait until you get into the real world</p>
<p>some years ago California had a drought....we had to conserve water, somehow we managed to not shower for more than 5 minutes, and still got as clean, and gosh, anyone else remember, "if its brown, flush it down, if its yellow, let it mellow"</p>
<p>when you have had to conerver like we did to get us through a rough time, you learn that you can get along just fine wihtout long showers and thrice daily cleansing</p>
<p>but, hey, dont be concerned about our natural resources, so long as you feel all squeaky clean ever minute of the day</p>
<p>what a sad generation that doesn't much care for the planet, and its liminted water supply</p>
<p>when there are people all over the world that barely have survivial water, and whose water has to be brought in, and that the world doesnt have an endless supply of clean, potable water, you mind consider doing a small thing like conserving water</p>

<p>We all care about the water suply, and we all remember the drought. But people keep most habits throughout life. So, if using a new towel every day is normal or wearing the same pjs for a week doesn't feel out of place, then people are going to go right on doing it. If and when we're ever in a water crisis, the price of your family's water bill will go up, like gas prices because of the limited oil supply that remains.</p>
<p>if I go in the shower and not wash my hair it still gets gross and frizzy, so it's lose lose.</p>
<p>wow, so people don't need to change until there is a crisis, because selfish habits are okay, not that they could ever lead to a crisis</p>
<p>as for gas prices....the price going up...it was for profits, pure and simple,,,and unlike water,not a vital life necessity</p>

<p>Where I live, it is just now in the 80's- and I still bathe a good two times a day. My low flow shower heads and I have a really low utility bill as a result.</p>
<p>Think of how the showers in those dorms are like. They are like motel showers or something, none of these young people are abusing all too much.</p>
<p>I'll never understand why people bathe. I mean, sitting in a tub like that is really gross, who knows what kind of bugs and grems grow all over the moist surface of the tub?</p>
<p>The showers here are actually really high power. It's shocking to go home and have it take a lot longer to get the shampoo out of my hair, because the water pressure is so much lower
I still don't understand why people need a shower in the morning and at night. But then again I lived in constant crisis mode. With a well, if you don't get enough rain it can and will dry out. And you have to conserve water all the time, so that it doesn't dry out as fast. That means limiting the showers, the laundry, etc. So I shower at night, get the nastieness of the day off, and go to bed clean, therefore waking up clean. And while I usually wear my pj's only twice, it sometimes is more than that. But I have lots of pj's so still don't have to do much laundry.
And for those of you that don't care about (or get) conserving water, think about this. If your home (or dorm) is heated by oil then it takes oil to heat the hot water too. Hot water tanks run off the furnace. All your water consumption is wasting oil too</p>
