The best would be Bose headphones, they cost roughly around $100 give or take. If you can find a used one, that would be even cheaper (even though quality may or may not be good).

wrong... research into headphone companies such as sennheiser, grado, AKG, Beyerdynamic... Those can cost much less than Bose yet deliver so much better audio quality.

For in-ear phones, I recommend Shure, etymotic, ultimate ears,

If you're planning to sleep with these on, think about whether you will really be able to sleep with anything that has wires. Do you move around a lot while you sleep? Turn over? If so, they'll come out or off. I think the white noise generator might be a good idea. or the foam earplugs. You can buy a big bucket of foam earplugs from Musician's Friend, and just toss them after a couple of uses. As far as noise-cancelling headphones, I had a pair of inexpensive Sony ones that worked OK for sounds like airplane noise, and I recently got a set of Bose headphones that work much better. I'm not a big audiophile, but the sound quality is also much better. But they're more than $100.

red sox 7327 - How are you enjoying your Tomahawk headphone amplifier? You know, the one that you SOLD to me, but never bothered sending? If this guy offers to sell you anything, decline, since he'll cheat you out of your money.

I suggest Skull Candy headphones. Not sure if they're actually noise-canceling, but I can't hear anything when I use them [as I can with all other headphones I've used], and that's fine for me. They're also quite cheap, depending on which ones you get. [Mine were $9.99, but FYE always has them on sale, they're originally around $30 dollars I think.]
