Excellent! Congrats!

Cool folder, huh? Congrats!

Wow...USNAaviationgirl...you reminded me that I hadn't checked the mail yet today (how could I forget such an important thing!), and there the offer of appointment was!

I guess you aren't "hopeful" any more, are you? Congrats!

CONGRATS GUYS ... did your status page change at all?

No change on the status page.

So when the status changes to "complete" - does that mean the appointment is in the mail? Quivering with anticipation.

My status page still just saus "letter of assurance" and under nominator: "none," my nomination came on December 3rd and my file is complete do you guys recommend me calling the academy, or would that seem impatient? (just to make sure they got my nomination in the mail)

Today I offically signed, accepted, and mailed off my offer of appointment to the academy today. Though many might think it's too quick to do so, I know I have given the thought necessary for this. For the last year to two I have wrestled with the decision and through that can truly tell myself I want to go through what it takes to be a USAFA cadet.

It's amazing how quickly all this admissions stuff fades away when you finally have that offer of appointment in front of you. To anyone frustrated with admissions..just keep at it!

[gets off soapbox/]

Thanks to everyone on this page who have helped me throughout this process. This is a great community that readily helps eachother throughout this complicated process. A special thanks goes out to DocFrance wherever he may be. Back when I was in junior high I came to this board and he gave me some very sound advice when I inquired about the academy. Years later I returned and he was still there answering my questions, and again giving me the knowlege needed to make an infomed decision about pursuing USAFA. I owe you one.

Oh..by the way (as my new desktop ticker says); 6 months, 17 days, 3 hours, 22 minutes, and 51 seconds until inprocessing opens up for the class of 2010. Lots of time to prepare!

"So when the status changes to "complete" - does that mean the appointment is in the mail? Quivering with anticipation."

I'm guessing that's right, as both I and usnaaviationgirl received our offers of appointment after our status' changed to complete.

"My status page still just says "letter of assurance" and under nominator: "none," my nomination came on December 3rd and my file is complete do you guys recommend me calling the academy, or would that seem impatient? (just to make sure they got my nomination in the mail)"

It seems to take a long time for all the paperwork to be processed/shown on the webpages. If you received your nom. on the 3'rd, you might be jumping the gun a bit by calling them. My nomination took about 2-3 weeks to show up and the appointment even longer.

I called my Congressman's nomination coordinator and she said that the nominations should be going out in the mail sometime this week. She didn't tell me if I received one but, though. At least some news from them, moving in baby steps, really its more of a standing up and preparing to move but it is some progress.

Same here. Any movement is good movement. Hopefully this week ill find out from my congressman as well.

Ta-da! Dd got an LOA last week and today the nomination came! I found her a book at Barnes and Noble today on the History of FLight to celebrate. Congrats to all on the board!
