In order to start the nomination process, do i just have to fill in the sample "congressional/service-connected nomination sample" and send it to both my senators, representative, etc....then just wait for them to send me something back?

It depends. Some have the information on the web and you just fill it out and mail it in. Some will mail you a packet of information. Search the web for your local rep and your state senators websites and then look for information on service academy nominations. Good Luck!

Some senators/representatives have links on their websites that allow you to download the application, others will send it to you if you call them, others require a letter. I would look at the websites and/or call the person who handles nominations in the respective offices and find out what their required procedure is.

Oops cross post - WAMom68 you beat me to it. :)

I am assuming that this is for the class of 2012. Most, if not all MOC deadlines had already passed for getting in the nomination packets.

Correct - juniors are applying to SLS at the moment and will be starting the nomination process later this summer for the class of 2012.
