I thought I would make a thread for all those who have received nominations. It's one step closer to the Academy!!

I received my letter today from Congressman Marty Meehan from the 5th Congressional District in Massachussetts. It was quite exciting opening the letter. I felt nervous and scared then relieved when I read the first few words. I must admit it was a great Christmas present!!

Dd has a nomination to Navy and to AFA. She also has an LOA to each and cleared her last DoDMERB hurdle last week. It's going to be a nice Christmas... Good luck to all in the quest...

If my son already has nominations to all the academies he is interested in, is there any reason to go for an interview with another congressperson--it would be a duplicate nomination if he got it.

Our Congressman's website clearly states that he informs USNA by Jan. 30th. so I guess there are some that come at least that late. We live in CA so they may be the later ones, but I don't know - since it seems that other states have been weeks if not months ahead of our interview dates, etc.

I just called my senator to ask when the nominations will arrive since I'm going to CWV on Jan. 27th and the whole thing would be pointless if I don't receive a nomination. The staff said it will arrive NEXT WEEK. wow. At least he called me yesterday and asked me whether I received a nomination from other source... I don't know if that's a good thing or not.

My son checked in with our MOC's. No nomination decisions re:anyone until the end of the month. So are we the latest state? I guess that makes sense why nobody that we have heard of in Oregon ever hears until really late about appointments.

Oregon Mom ...our Congressman did his interviews on Dec. 17th....and waits a full month until Jan. 16th to send out his letters. He says this on his website. Urgh....I know other offices that turn these things around in 1 week! But there ain't nuddin I can do about it but wait, like the rest of us.
