non binding schools

so if you ranked non binding schools on questbridge, you don't have to go
MEANING: you can apply for other schools later on with questbridge app? or common app only?
thanks

Yes, once the matching process is over… you can apply to any school in any way that you want.

You may NOT apply EA or ED if you rank colleges in the National College Match, even if you are not matched.

[National College Match Flowchart](QuestBridge)

You can apply to other colleges regular decision if you are matched with a non-binding school. Most of the QB schools consider the QB app as a supplement to the Common App in the regular decision process, but check each school’s rd requirements on its QB page.

Yes, I know. After the match process is over, if you are matched to a non binding school, can you still forward your questbridge application to the other partner schools?

Yes, a non-binding match means you’re as free as any other finalist to apply wherever you’d like. I guess not many keep applying after getting into MIT, Yale, Stanford or Princeton :)

Haha, thanks for the quick reply, scoutsmom. You are fantastic. But I mean, even through Questbridge right?

I don’t see any limitations on the website, but you can always email QB to check.

I have a question for your Scout’s mom - since your son got into Yale. My son is a senior, waiting to hear about college match. He wants to go to Yale and study music. He has a 32 ACT took it twice got 31 the 1st time (both in April last year - one with writing national, one at school) His highs are 33 Reading & English, 34 math and 29 science. He has a 3.96 unweighted GPA (17th out of 576). Took 3 AP classes AB Calc (4), US History (5) and Music Theory (5) last year. You really can’t take AP classes until your junior year at his school. He is taking AP Bio, AP Computer Science AP Brit lit this year. His EC’s are almost exclusively music, classical piano, 2 choirs & composition. He does volunteer at a nursing home and plays ultimate frisbee. Just curious as your son got into Yale, as to what his background is. Also, my son is black, I graduated from college, but his father did not. We are divorced and his father is completely out of the picture (i.e., incarcerated for 58 to life for a crime of violence against me). My son has not had any contact with him since May 2010. Any insight would be appreciated… Currently he has Yale, Stanford, Columbia and Amherst on his list. Would you advise taking off Amherst as it is a binding school?

oops - I meant April 2012 not April 2011 for the ACT.
