Non Catholic at Catholic Universities?

I’ve planning on studying business in college and some Catholic schools like Georgetown, Villanova, and BC interested me. Looking through some posts, many people say being non Catholic at Georgetown is not a big deal, but religion has a more significant presence at Villanova and BC. I’m not too religious, but religion doesn’t bother me as long as nobody looks down on me for it. I was wondering if there is anything different about Catholic schools other than required theology courses that I should consider.

As long as you are not bothered by crucifixes and other Catholic iconography around campus you will be fine.

There are a number of threads on this topic on CC you can look through.

In general I’d say that if you attend a Catholic school you should:
–be respectful of religion;
–expect to see religious symbols and a church on campus;
–expect to take some theology and philosophy coursework (you can check each school’s core curriculum).

If you are fine with that, it should be no issue. I agree that Gtown is probably the least religious-orientated of the schools on your list.

As an aside, my S went to Fordham and the way he described it, religious activities were there for those who wished to partake but it was not pushed on anyone.

might check out Holy Cross, imo a little more liberal than Boston College.
