Hey guys so I’m currently a senior in high school who’s a non citizen studying in an international school. I’m going to theU states for college and plan on going on the pre med track as I aspire to get in med school. I understand that there might be some difficulty for non citizens like me in getting into med school so does anyone know how difficult it might be? Are there any stats or articles that you guys might have seen? Thank you.
There will be an extreme amount of difficulty for a non-citizen, non-resident to be admitted to a US medical school.
I believe the admissions rate for internationals is about 1/4 of that for citizens (i.e ~11% admitted vs. 44% admitted), and the financial aid is much stingier. It’s not uncommon for a medical school to require a non-citizen to front the entire 4 year tuition in an escrow account prior to enrolling.
