Custodial parent has compiled with all requirements, student has gotten a financial aid offer, but the non-custodial form is still outstanding (and may never be filed).

What do schools do when they require CSS and they don't get the non-custodial form? I'm sure this must vary with the school; just wondering what may happen.

If it is unlikely that the non-custodial parent will file the Profile form, you may want to ask for a non-custodial parent waiver. Some schools will grant the waiver based on the number of years divorced (say, 10 years or longer), and other schools will want proof that the NC parent is a slacker either through you and your child’s affidavits or through court orders showing problems with NC parent paying child support or given limited or no contact with student. Check with FA Office of each school for waiver info.
