This is the email I just sent to BC, Tufts, etc

"Hello,

My name is Benjamin Filippo and I recently applied for Early Action at Boston College. However, I recently went to submit the CSS Profile and saw the Non-Custodial Parent form. The problem with this is that my parents were divorced over 15 years ago, and my father has made no contact with us, nor do we have any knowledge of his whereabouts. Because of this, I am unsure of how to approach the NCP form, as there is absolutely no way of contacting him, as even Child Services has failed to locate him. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated!"

Anyone have an answer to this? I don't want to be screwed out of aid because my father is a "dead-beat dad".

Talk to the FA offices of those colleges, or have your mom... I know I'm going to have weird issues with custody because my parents are separated as well, but most FA people have been really nice to my mom and me and explained exactly what is necessary. Is it possible for you to visit and meet with them in person?

Yeah I have this exact same problem. Financial Aid at the school told me to talk to my admission interviewer when I have my interview about this exact same issue.

Eventually the school will address the issue about your non custodial parent. They will send a letter with an application for a non custodial waiver. They will also let you know what you need to submit with your application for the waiber. Once you submit the requested information the school will then determine as to whether or not it will grant your waiver.

I contacted the schools and they just required a letter from a 3rd party (in our case, our church's pastor), and some required a letter from the Dept. of Child Services saying that we had received no payment, etc.
