Non-Engineering Grad Programs...

Hi all,

I'm a senior graduating from Texas A&M with a bachelors in electrical engineering in the spring. I have a 3.2GPA and plenty of work experience. Grad school deadlines are approaching and I'm looking to apply. The problem is, I'm not really interested in going to grad school for electrical.

Can anyone help me with a pick of a non electrical degree? I've been thinking of going in for something like financial engineering and end up being an analyst or consultant.

Thanks.

so many views and no help? =[

Have you considered operations research? Assuming you have an 800 quant on the gres and decent recs, you should be able to get into a middle ofthe road program.

Unfortunately, due to serious international competition, your gpa alone will prohibit you from getting into a worthwhile financial engineering program.

You could go after an MBA if you want to work in business, however you’d end up leaving engineering career all together.

He’s a senior.
No work experience and very average grades = no MBA .

Oh, I should probably include that. I took the new GRE and my scores are as follows…(they’re out of 170)

Verbal - 160 - 86%
Quant - 168 - 96%
A.Writing - 5.5 - 96%

I’ve also had 2 previous internships and worked under 2 professors who do supply chain.
Since like you said, my GPA isn’t great, what sort of programs(I guess more like where) would be a good place to apply if I was to do something along the lines of operation research or financial engineering?
