Non-French speaking students?

Hi, I am from Massachusetts and was considering applying to McGill this year, but unfortunately I have only taken spanish (and one latin class) during high school and have never learned any french beyond a few simple phrases. Would this be a huge problem for me if I were to go to McGill? I would be doing something in engineering and understand the classes are taught in english, but outside of the college I wasn't sure if this would be a problem.

You won’t have any problems. Almost everyone speaks English in downtown Montreal.

I sometimes feel guilty, but I don’t speak a word of French and get along fine.

You’ll be fine, Montreal is very bilingual.
