Non-Honors student in Honors dorm?

Hi all. I just submitted my enrollment today, and also submitted my housing form. I did a mutual roomate request with someone I have been talking to on facebook for a few months now. I would assume they would let us room together, except I am in the Honors College (University Honors) and he is not. Will that be a hassle? He says he knows kids who have done that before, so I took his word and put his name down. As much as I want him to be my roomate, I do not want to miss out on the Honors dorms and living/learning program

My twins are both in an honors dorm, but only one of them is in the honors program. It’s not been a problem.

I believe if you have indicated that you are in a honors program on your housing application, they will put you in an honors dorm before accommodating your roommate request. That was the case for my son, a scholars requested a non-scholars friend to room with. Even though they mutually requested each other, housing didn’t honor the request due to the space limitation initially.

You can also call housing to make sure that you will be in a honors dorm.
