i'm being listed as non resident by UC and have to pay 11k for fee and tuition. Does non resident mean that i do not live in santa barbara? or does it mean that i do not live in CA at all? :3 kinda sucks when i have to pay that much ( already billed to BARC). I live in Southern CA btw

Non-resident = you don’t live in CA

thanks. I’ve lived and graduated high school from CA. The only thing i dont have is the citizenship, but i dont think it affects the decision. Also, i’ve submitted the SLR (shouldn’t be any error also). I dont understand why they classified me as such. I just emailed them a letter and hopefully it can get fix for this year. Btw, is it too late to change it for this year now? or at least, this quarter…

Contact the registrar. There’s a waiver you can fill out if you attended a California HS for at least 2 years and graduated that will give you instate tuition and they should be able to process it for the fall quarter.

ok thank you, but do you have any idea if i still can change my status? cuz i’ve been living in CA since i immigrate here, and i did emailed them my newly acquired driver license and permanent resident card #.

I’m not sure. I’ve lived in CA my whole life and they put me on non-resident status. I’m in the middle of contesting it though.

so we are kinda in the same situation :I. They told me to mail them the photocopies of my green card and my parent’s green card. Hopefully it’s not deadline yet lol (just emailed last night, and their office doesnt open 'till 10 am). Kinda worry, idk why
