Non- science majors?

i know CMU is strong in all science areas, as well as drama, music, architecture etc. how are the other departments- english especially?

i do know tepper business school is amazing. i’m not sure about english.

i heard the creative writing program is pretty good. not sure about the others though.

In English – I’m a CW major, the writing programs are really wonderful, PM me if you’ve got questions related to those. The general English degree, not so much. It’s probably a good setup for a law program if you’re going for prelaw, but the classes are really not that challenging compared to other majors (though they are certainly interesting) and you could easily skate by with A’s.

On the plus side, a primary degree in English gives you lots of room to explore other classes and topics that you definitely wouldn’t have time to check out in a technical major. One of the things I appreciate about the creative writing program here is that I’ve been able to take a double major with ease, take graduate courses in my area of interest, and other electives I would never have had time for if I were in CS or something.

How is Ethics, History and Public Policy considered to be?
