Non-teacher/Counselor Recommendation

<p>Hi</p>

<p>I have read in numerous places that I have a person to write me a recommendation letter even if they are not a teacher or counselor. I am applying through commonapp(online). Using that site, I could not find a place where I could add this additional recommendation letter.</p>

<p>Commonapp requires me to specify whether the added person is a teacher or counselor and I cannot specify nothing or anythingelse</p>

<p>You can also get your additional recommender to send a paper recommendation to the school in a clearly labeled envelope. Supplemental recommenders don’t need to fill out the same materials that teachers and counselors are, as they’re not discussing your academics. They can just send a letter.</p>
