Non thesis masters programs in engineering

Son is feeling the burn out of second semester sophomore year mechanical engineering. He is a straight A student, first time in his life, and is in a research based honors program. He's feeling that he does not like research and is now considering not pursuing a masters degree as he wants to go right into the traditional work force, not do research.

I've heard that some schools do offer a non thesis masters program in engineering, and son is interested in pursuing that option for grad school.

Would love some feedback from anyone familiar with, currently participating in, or any ideas of schools that have this type of program.

Son is a mechanical engineering major, with an interest in biomedical engineering. Not interested in med school. Wants to design biomedical equipment, anything from orthosis and prosthetics, his current research, to diagnostic equipment.

I’d venture to say MOST schools offer a non-thesis route in engineering, not some. If he’s not interested in research, this would be a great path to further his knowledge in the industry. Also, many companies will reimburse or pay for you to pursue a Master’s degree, with some stipulations.
